Winter Storm Warning – Community Safety & Snow Removal Guidelines

In anticipation of the significant snow event forecasted for this weekend, Conway Borough is asking for your active cooperation. Our primary goal is the safety of our residents and the efficient operation of our road crews.

To help us clear the streets quickly and safely, please follow these guidelines:

  • Vehicle Parking: We strongly urge residents to remove all vehicles (if possible) from Borough streets. Keeping the roadways clear allows our plow trucks to operate safely, effectively, and without delay.
  • Travel Safety: Please avoid all unnecessary travel during the storm. If you must be on the roads, maintain a safe distance from plow trucks and do not “crowd the plow.”
  • Prioritizing Clearance: Our Public Works team will be working around the clock. Note that main thoroughfares and emergency routes are our top priority; side streets and alleys will be addressed as quickly as possible thereafter.
  • Home & Neighborhood Safety:
    • Ventilation: Ensure furnace and dryer vents are clear of snow to prevent dangerous carbon monoxide buildup.
    • Hydrants: If there is a fire hydrant near your property, please clear a 3-foot path around it to assist emergency services.
  • Stay Informed: For real-time emergency alerts and updates, please ensure you are signed up for Smart 911.
  • Borough Office Closure: Due to the expected storm, the Borough Office will be CLOSED on Monday, January 26th.

Borough Officials will continue to provide updated information as we get it, via our website and official Facebook page.

Thank you for your patience and for doing your part to keep our community safe.
