Zoning Hearing Board

The Zoning Hearing Board (also known as the Board of Adjustment) is a three-member board whose function is to hear appeals of the decisions of the Zoning Officer.  The Board has the authority to approve exemptions from certain requirements contained within the Zoning Ordinance by granting a variance.  Although Council appoints the board, the Board’s decisions can only be appealed through the State Courts.  

Board members are appointed to serve 5-year Terms.

The Zoning Hearing Board meets as needed to conduct business.
